In the 60s car ownership was unusual, not everyone had one, nowadays most homes have two or more cars.
Computers are going the same way, many homes have more than one computer and Networking them together is a way of increasing their usability. Laptops, handhelds and desktop machines can all link up and share each other's resources.
Large image or music files can be saved on the desktop machine but still viewed or listened to on the laptop or handheld.
Wireless networking is becoming quite cheap now so imagine the benefits of having the laptop or handheld in the garden and being able to access your files and the internet from the main machine via the Network.
We, at the Welwyn Hatfield Computer Club, regularly network up members computers at each club meet, often 8 or 10 computers can be Networked together and members can surf the internet, download email and play Network games against each other.
If you would like to know more about Networking then come along, you will be more than welcome.
